THE YEAR 1874.
Cincinnati and Westwood Railroad Company. This company was incorporated May 20, 1874, Rec. of Corp., v. 13, p. 46. The road of this company is all within the corporate limits of the City of Cincinnati, and was first built as a narrow gauge, but in 1891 was changed to standard gauge at an expense of about one hundred thousand dollars. The road was operated as both passenger and freight traffic until August 1, 1896, when the passenger business was abandoned, since which time freight only has been carried on account of the building of the Cincinnati street lines to Westwood.
The line of road extends from Brighton Station on the Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton Railroad in a northerly direction a distance of 5.63 miles to a point in Westwood in Cincinnati.
